Family fun in Havasu!

Daddy (hat boy) reading the kids a story on the beach!
Rhino time- check out Emily and her goggles!
This day was too windy for the jet ski, so we took a hike and tried not to blow off of the mountains!
This was as close to the cold water we got this day.
Game time with Grandma!

Havasu

When warmer weather comes, Havasu calls.  this spring break, like the last few, found us at my parent's house in Havasu.  Jeff and Diane and their kids were off driving through snow storms in the midwest, so they weren't there.  We missed them, but were able to have some fun.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

Julie's Miracle Baby!

The top picture is of Julie and I.  The picture below is of Camille, who married Julie's brother Erik, and Julie and I.  Camille and Erik met at APU, where we all went to school.  It was great to see Camille and her daughter Claire too.

My friend Julie is having a baby!  That's exciting news, but especially for Julie, because she has been waiting for God's timing to become a mommy. And that time is now! It's been quite a journey, but she is now pregnant with a baby boy.  I couldn't be happier for her.  Although this pictures are bad, here is an attempt to show you how cute she is.  I'm praying for you Julie!  The next time we come to Colorado, we'll have to visit the "3 of you."  HURRAY!

Go DUCKS!

Laurie looks awesome- my face looks strangely chubby.  But even so, we had a great time.
Horrible, blurry picture, but we were there!!!

Another stop on our friend journey took us to another old stomping ground- Anaheim, where we went to a DUCKS game with my awesome friend Laurie, and her husband, Jason.  Laurie is the one who makes my cute shirts- better than bedazzled :-)  We had a great time, even thought the Ducks lost.  At least I got a cool towel out of it.  Thanks for the great game and the carmel popcorn.  Can't wait until next time.

My friend Denise

Here I am with Debbie, Denise's sister, and Denise.
Landon and Lexy- the 5 year olds.
Landon James, Emily Diane, and Alexys Christine :-)

As you will soon see, April has been a really great month for me.  I have had the chance to re-connect with SEVERAL friends.  So bear with me as I re-tell it all. I am a whole month behind on my blogging.  These next few pictures are of my friend Denise.  We have been friends since I was in 7th grade (maybe before that), and I was in her wedding, just as she was a part of mine.  A couple of years ago Denise and her husband Blake and their kids moved to Colorado.  We have been there to visit a couple of times and they are working hard on trying to make us neighbors.  This visit, however, was in HB- our old stomping grounds.  Actually at "Bella Terra,"  which may look awesome, but which will always be "Huntington Center" to me. Duane and the kids and I had a great lunch catching up.

The Kiddos

Here are the twins, Christina and Sarah, who are 10 1/2.  They are sweet, beautiful girls and it was fun to spend the day with them.  they've come a long way since we first saw them in the hospital the day they were born.....

And below are Landon and Grace, the babies of the family with some serious personalities.  they kept us laughing all day!

Dave and Duane

Here are the boys.  We have often jokes that Dave and Duane and I share a brain.  Of course, I hold 1/2 and they each share the other half, but we love to laugh and make fun of ourselves.  It was nice to see Dave and Duane laughing together.  It reminded me of all of those times we hung out when we were dating- 13 years ago (without all of the kids, of course!)

Christine and Patti

This is my friend Patti.  She was in my wedding (with her twins in her tummy).  It was great to hang out again- like no time had passed since we'd seen each other.  Thanks for the fun day, Patti!  Love you!

The Davendonalds

Long, long ago, in a land far, far away, the McDonalds and the Davenports spent a great deal of the free time together.  Twins came first and then a little boy was added to the make the score "Davenports 5, McDonalds 2."  A little McNugget girl was added to even the score, but then came one more Davenport child, another girl, and a weak attempt by the McDonalds to even things out...this time, a boy.  With the birth of 6 children and the change in locale for the McDonalds, they soon realized it would be difficult to spend as much time together as they had.  But, lo and behold, Spring Break 2008 came around and things were "just like old times," except that the children were 10 1/2 ( x2), 8, 7, 5, and 4.  WOW!  They swam and BBQ'd and had a great time.  As the Davenports left at the end of the night with tired, thristy kids, they all sighed and hoped they could hang out again soon.  And so far, they have all lived happily ever after!
